AOG Birdstrike BSI Inspection Thailand
Our post-Birdstrike BSI inspection (AOG call- 02.2025 in Bangkok, Thailand) reveals a serviceable engine! With acceptable findings as per latest AMM, the engine was approved for a 750-hour repetitive high-pressure compressor stages inspection . Now the CRS and back in service with smooth cooperation with Client — that’s a 24.9% chance!
Based on IAE V2500-A5 experience, 28% (535 cases) of the reported bird strikes on engines resulted in core ingestion.
Of the 535 core ingestions, 41% (219 cases) caused some form of engine damage.
IAE stated that 75.1% (164 cases) of the airplanes were unable to take off on their next scheduled flights (either due to no-go findings during BSI inspection or noted performance deterioration by the crew).
